Brochures
In the last year we have produced a number of useful guides for the hedge fund industry to explain and simplify the insurance options. Please email shyam.moorjani@baronsmead.com should you require a copy.
Insurance Guide for Start-up Hedge Funds
- The Insurance Guide for Start-Up Hedge Funds covers our area of Financial Risks Insurance (Professional Indemnity and Directors’ and Officers’ Liability) as well as General Insurance (Office Contents etc) and Employee Benefits (Key Man, Pensions etc) which are available through other independent specialist insurance firms. For all covers we discuss the key products, the information required, an estimate of costs, how much cover people typically buy based on AUM and who to contact.
Financial Risks Insurance for hedge funds and managers
- We have designed this as a guide to Financial Risks Insurance for established hedge funds and managers. This aims to help them avoid making the wrong choices and to judge the quality of advice and product they are receiving.
Insurance options for fund directors
- We have set out, in this separate brochure, the insurance options for non-executive fund directors, ranging from what to be careful about in terms of being covered by a sponsor’s policy to the products they can buy individually or for the fund specifically.
Claims notification procedures
- This document provides written guidance notes on claims notification procedures. Claims management is an area that is poorly understood by hedge funds and many insurance brokers. It is designed to be a practical guide to stop hedge funds prejudicing their chance of recovery under their insurance policies because they are unaware of, or are poorly advised on, the technical aspects of claims management.
Risks Mapping Report
- We have developed a unique Risks Mapping Report for our major hedge fund clients. This has significantly improved the insurance industry’s response to their risks in terms of cover and premium.
Insurance Benchmarking for Hedge Fund COOs
- We undertook a survey, in conjunction with The Hedge Fund Journal, of 200 UK based single hedge fund managers. The aim of the survey was to enable CFO/COOs to benchmark their Financial Risks Insurance cover against their peers and compare limits, premiums and service standards.
